If there was a thought bubble on the side of your head what would it usually say?

If there was a thought bubble on the side of my head it would probably say "Nopeeeee" because I don't tolerate nonsense when it comes my way. Growing up in the dance industry, I have learned that it is ok to stand your ground and that you do not have to be a yes man.

Why do you do what you do?

I dance and perform because it not only makes me happy but it also brings joy to others who are watching.

What drives you?

My family really motivates me to keep pushing through my career. I want to make them proud of their little baby girl and reassure my parents that they did an excellent job in setting a great example of hard work and determination.

What is your biggest accomplishment and why?

My biggest accomplishment so far is moving across the country to Los Angeles all by myself.

If you had an extra 5 hours in your day – what would you spend it on?

If I had an extra 5 hours in a day I would use that time for more community involvement with children. Before moving to L.A, I worked for a non profit organization that helped children from low income families.

What’s the secret to your success?

Prayer, Determination, Consistency, Discipline, and overall being a positive human being!

What's the one skill set you're working on right now? And how are you tackling it?

As of now, the one skill set that I'm working on is Organization. To improve this, I have been writing and categorizing my thoughts, upcoming events, future goals and anything else I feel of importance down on a chart.

Have you ever found yourself discouraged and how do you deal?

There have been plenty of times when I have found myself discouraged, in fact, it still happens.  In order to deal with it, I take some time and remind myself that I am Kashana Sharif and this is my journey. If I made it this far, I should not give up now.

What do you love most about your curls?

For a couple of years my hair was relaxed so I had forgotten how beautiful my natural hair was. Over the past two years I grew my hair out and I love how cute and tight my curls are!

Your favorite go-to hairstyle?

Favorite Go-to hairstyle is a tough one for me because I change my hair all the time. My hair depends on the mood I'm in and my outfit for the day. I'm very into fashion! One day I may rock my curly fro or one day I'll have the slickest ponytail you have ever seen!

Your Favorite Flower?

My favorite Flower is a sunflower, I love yellow.

Advice for Curly Girls/Other Women?

My advice for curly girls and women is Do what you feel unapologetically, but also strive to be the best version of yourself because there is only One YOU!
